Sunday, August 10, 2008  This afternoon, Bhagawan consented to watch an education documentary prepared by the Prasanthi Digital Studio in the Poornachandra auditorium along with the students of the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School and the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School. Bhagawan arrived there at 3.45 and saw more than 45 minutes of the documentary before asking for the screening to be stopped so that He could go to the Sai Kulwant Hall. There, devotees from Vijayanagaram district of Andhra Pradesh presented a Telugu drama 'Jagame Rama Mayam'. The Vijayanagaram devotees had arrived in strength yesterday and had a procession through Puttaparthi last evening. This evening's 45 minute drama concluded at six o'clock, and Bhagawan Blessed the children who participated with clothes. The students sang bhajans for fifteen minutes while prasadam was distributed, and Bhagawan accepted Arati at 6.25 pm. - Prasanthi Bulletin

Fresh Mantle of Vice Chancellorship- Speeches and Divine Discourse click here to read the High light of Swami's Discourse-6th Aug 08
Today Prof. Vishwanath Pandit assumes the mantle of Vice Chancellorship at Sri Sathya Sai University, Prasanthi Nilayam.

Poornachandra Auditorium that has a glorious tale of hosting events in Prasanthi Nilayam was yet again privileged to host a glittering ceremony, the changing over of the Vice Chancellorship of Sri Sathya Sai University. In a ceremony presided over by the Chancellor of the
Join group saibabaofindia - "SBOI" Be a part of a growing Sai online community University, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and attended by a capacity crowd including students from all the three campuses, Prof. Vishwanath Pandit, a leading economist, has been handed over the mantle as the 8th Vice Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai University.

The stage that was decorated matching the grandeur of the occasion had the hallmark message from Bhagawan highlighted, for one and all to imbibe the true meaning of Education. "Saa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye", meaning, ‘True Education grants you Liberation’ was the apt message adorned the stage that welcomed one and all when Bhagawan entered the auditorium at 9:50 a.m. On stage were the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Sri Anil Gokak, Mrs. Anil Gokak and the new incumbent Prof. Vishwanath Pandit. The programme began with Mr. Gokak and his wife being garlanded by the principals of the Prasanthi Nilayam and Anantapur campuses respectively. Recounting the instances wherein Mr. Gokak had shown a lot of care, concern and character at the expected lines set by Bhagawan, Sri Srirangarajan, faculty member from the School of Business Management, delivering his introductory speech, expressed profound gratitude to the outgoing Vice Chancellor for his yeomen, dedicated service to the institution.

Mr. Giri who addressed next, spoke of the glory of the story of the Institute. He highlighted on the sterling qualities of Mr. Gokak and Prof. Vishwanath Pandit. Overwhelmed by the grandeur and the magnitude of Bhagawan’s all conquering love, the outgoing Vice Chancellor, who spoke next, recounted how his father, Dr. Vinayak Krishna Gokak had experienced Bhagawan’s Divinity that resulted him to finally reaching at His Divine Lotus Feet. Speaking with overwhelming emotion, he expressed his firm conviction that Bhagawan would be with him always and he would be serving Him all through his life. As a conventional practice Bhagawan facilitated the couple with "Suvarna Kankanams" (golden bracelets).

Bhagawan commenced His Divine Discourse with a poem praising Bharat (India), saying that Bharat was such a sacred land where people were born, who were reputed across continents, who had driven away enemies attaining freedom, adding ‘concern’ that now people in the country have become like elephant that does not realise its strength.

The need of the hour is not merely education, but Educare. Educare means to manifest the innate noble qualities from within. Education is related to the outer world whereas educare is related to the inner world, said Bhagawan delivering His Divine Discourse blessing the occasion.   Following are the excerpts from His Divine Discourse.

God is One…Goal is One….

Here are the main points from His Divine Discourse

Man is the embodiment of God, endowed with all powers, but is unable to realise his innate powers as he is deluded with worldly feelings; He is living in grip of fear and is unable to face even small problem. Main reasn for this is the modern education.

Modern Education helps you to eke out your living and earn money. Modern Education will give comforts to the body which is ephemeral. One may be having any amount of money, but it does not confer peace of mind. One can experience peace and happiness only by taking to spirituality. Bhagawan sang the first line of the Bhajan, “Bhajana Bina Sukha Shanti Nahi, telling that only through contemplating on God one can experience peace and happiness…

In spite of all his learning a mean minded person cannot give up his evil qualities. What is the use of education, if it fails to confer peace of mind and coming to your rescue when your end approaches? Acquire that knowledge which will make you immortal. To acquire that knowledge one needs to have five human qualities, namely, Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, Prema and Ahimsa, that is, Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-violence.

The need of the hour is not merely education, but educare. Educare means to manifest the innate noble qualities from within. Education is related to the outer world whereas educare is related to the inner world.

Man is essentially Divine. Because of his attachment with the body he considers himself a mere mortal, due to which he is unable to give up his evil tendencies.

Whenever one gets evil thoughts one should remind himself that he is not an animal but a human being.

One may be a scholar or an educated person but cannot be called a human being if he lacks evil qualities. Bhagawan cited the example of King Alexander.

Gokak was the first Vice Chancellor who was an ardent devotee of Bhagawan and students and the institution is enjoying the benefit of his good work. He would obey My command in letter and spirit. Anil Gokak is the worthy son of the worthy father. He has completed there years of his tenure and today he is retiring. But, wherever they go, Bhagawan is always with them; Both husband and wife are ardent devotees.

We do not give send off to anybody here; we always welcome everyone… welcome….welcome. They are not going anywhere away from Bhagawan.

The entire world is created out of truth and merges in truth. Even tiny ants and insects, everything is embodiment of Divinity. There is no place where one cannot find God. Hence even if you are protected or punished, think that it happened because of God’s will. It is only God who does everything.

People may put you to suffering, but still you should love them considering them as your own because the same Atma is present in all.

Whether you go to America, India, Japan, Germany or Pakistan, Sun is one and the same. it is the same God who is present everywhere. When you think and contemplate on Rama and Krishna you can certainly see them.

Do not think that God is different from his devotees. Always think that you are God.

You say that this is my body, this is my mind…questioning yourself who are you? Once you give up the feeling of I and mine, you will know your reality.

When there are thousand pots filled with water you will see the reflection of the sun in each pot. But once the pots are emptied, there would not be any reflection…similarly when you transcend your mind you will go beyond the feeling of I and mine.

Today Vishwanath Pandit is taking over as the new Vice Chancellor. He is a good person, travelled all around the world. Many Vice Chancellors have come and gone. But, they have come and gone at the physical level. I am present in all of them as the Atma. Hence there is no question of anyone coming or going. However, one has to discharge his duties at the physical level. This duty is meant to establish relationship with God at physical level. Duty is God. Gokak has done his duty very well. He used to seek clarification from Me. I need such people in My Mission.

One should always have the unity of thought, word and deed which is the hallmark of a true human being. Educare brings out the unity of these three. You do not need to search for a text book outside to understand Educare. Your heart is your text book. Follow your heart. Only then you become good boys and good people. Good people are God’s Own People.

Prof. Vishwanath Pandit, a noted economist, was earlier the adviser to the World Bank/advisor to Govt. of Srilanka, Dean at the prestigious Delhi School of Economics apart from holding various other distinguished positions and have more than hundred articles published in various international journals.

Prof. Vishwanath Pandit who was asked to address towards the end started with stating that being a man of few words, he had fewer words on such an overwhelming occasion. He thanked his predecessor for all the wonderful works done and prayed to Bhagawan to make him a worthy instrument. As he concluded, Bhagawan blessed him profusely before Arathi was offered to Bhagawan. evening details

Tuesday, August 5, 2008  The Sai youth from Himachal Pradesh presented a musical programme this evening. When Swami came onstage, the programme began with a short introduction praying to Bhagawan to visit their state. During the 45 minutes of songs, the young men formed vigorous tableaux with three rows of singers clapping and swaying to the beat. Bhagawan blessed one of the group with a chain, and then went down from the stage to take group photographs with them, standing up for the photos.

Once He returned onstage, He sent chocolates, clothes and vibhuti prasadam for them. Swami listened to a few minutes of bhajans by the HP group, followed by a bhajan by the students before accepting Arati at 6 pm. Prof. Anil Kumar was then asked to make an announcement about the Vice-Chancellor change ceremony tomorrow at the Poornachandra Auditorium. - Prasanthi Bulletin.  Read More Darshan news from today submitted to SBOI:  This afternoon Swami came for darshan at 4:30 p.m. in His mobile Thorne and took a right turn in front of the stage skipping gents darshan lines. Monday, August 4, 2008
The day at Parthi was quite cloudy and a moisture laden breeze swept through refreshing the otherwise sweltering afternoon. Slowly, more and more clouds gathered and the day grew cooler and cooler. Early evening, the message was that Swami had permitted the youth from United kingdom to sit in front and have a short speech programme. The thick clouds soon gave way and a torrential downpour began. As the rain lashed on the Kulwant hall roof, the movements near Yajur Mandir indicated that Swami was about to arrive. Swami came in the car and after a short darshan round, came on stage. He enquired about the speakers for the afternoon. After a short while listening to the Vedas,
Swami went into the interview room.

Swami came out and asked for the speeches to begin. The first speaker was an elderly lady devotee by name Josephine. She was helped to the stage and as she slowly walked, Swami was all compassion and love for her. He asked for the mike and podium to be immediately placed and then blessed her to begin. She seemed to be completely drenched in His love and overwhelmed at the wonderful opportunity. She spoke only for four minutes wherein she stated that all she wanted to convey was that everyone must have full faith in Swami and that was enough! As she concluded with "Sai Ram", Swami seemed surprised. He asked her smilingly and jokingly as to why her speech wa
Join group saibabaofindia - "SBOI" Be a part of a growing Sai online communitys so tiny. Blessing her, Swami asked for a chair to be placed for her to sit.

The next speaker was Mr. Ajit Popat. In his usual inimitable style he began with a sloka saluting the Lord. Centering his talk on the theme of "onward, forward, Godward", he spoke on a plethora of subjects ranging from faith and devotion to realizing the Self as the Swami within. He concluded after a little above 35 minutes and then Swami patted him lovingly for the effort. Then He asked for bhajans to begin. As per
His command, the first bhajan was "Sri Raghunandana" with the aalaap. The next began with the Aalaap, "Allahu Akbar". As the singer travelled through the highs and extra highs of the opening tune, Swami was visibly moved. He even told Mr. Popat sitting beside him that the boy was singing so very high. Seeing Swami so moved, the youth sitting in front of Him too began shedding tears.

The Love that devotees have for Swami is so unique and complete, just like His Love for them. A smile on His face lights every other face similarly. A tear welling up in His eye as He is moved and there is a free flow of tears in all the thousands of eyes watching Him. He reflects the emotions and feelings of the devotees and they in their turn, reflect His emotions and feelings. Indeed beautiful is this unique relationship. As the bhajan reached its crescendo and the zenith of its rhythm, Swami asked for Aarthi. Swami retired to Yajur Mandir after that. top

Sunday, August 3, 2008 The central area in Kulwant hall today was occupied by devotees from Kuwait and they had been granted permission by Swami yesterday to put up a programme this evening. It has been a very significant pilgrimage for them. They had come prepared with a programme called, "Prayer" with a prayer for an opportunity to put it up in His divine presence. Days had passed and nothing seemed to happen. Swami too had avoided the gents side for some time. And yesterday, when Swami Himself went to them , enquired about the programme and granted permission, they really experienced the joy of praying and the thrill of it being answered at the right time by the Lord!

At about 4:40pm Swami came out for darshan rounds. As He moved in the chair and neared the Kuwait devotees, He asked, "Drama?" They were all very happy as they nodded in agreement. Swami, with a lot of interest, watched the huge screen they had put up as the backdrop and moved over to the gents side. Waves of devotees rose to catch a glimpse of the smiling, orange-robed, lovable and adorable form that was gliding through them. The balconies of the East Prashanti block were also bursting at the seams with old ladies looking at their Sai Krishna. Smiling and granting Abhayahasta, Swami moved on. With His scented curls of jet black hair dancing to some ethereal melody, red lips sporting a divine all-knowing smile and twinkling eyes with the unique ability to thrill and fill with joy every person on whom they fall upon, seeing Swami is a joy sublime!

Completing the rounds, Swami came onstage and as soon as He arrived, He called one of the ladies seated in the front and asked her whether the drama was first or there was a music programme first. She said that both were together but things would go as Swami wanted. One of the most common answers that people give Swami is, "Swami as you will/wish." On deeper introspection, we realize the absolute needlessness of that statement. Anything that happens is 100% in tune with what He has willed and no amount of effort from us can change that. Only complete surrender to Him can change things and that too is because He will do anything for one who surrenders completely to Him. But still, that statement is made very frequently and Swami too seems pleased when it is stated thus. More than informing Swami, that statement serves to remind each one of us that everything is going on beautifully well and nothing can ever go wrong because whatever is happening is His Will and His Will alone!

As Swami sat on the stage, a few devotees from Kuwait came up to Him with flowers and cards and booklets as offerings. Swami received all of them and blessed them. After that, Swami sat for a while listening to the veda chanting. Then He went into the interview room for a brief interval and then He came back to the stage. He told them to start the programme. The programme that began was a skit cum music programme that was many shades different from the standard presentations made in Swami's presence. top

The storyline was very simple. There is a devout Muslim searching a good match for his daughter. In his daily interactions with the shopkeeper of the local grocery store, he discovers the power of prayer. The episode narrated here is of a very pious but poor lady who begs for food at the store. When the shopkeeper mockingly tells her that he would give her provisions equivalent to the weight of her shopping list, she takes the name of Allah and places the list on the scales. The scales get "tipped" so heavily in favour of the one taking the Lord's name that no amount of provisions seems to move the weighing balance! With the Lord's name, nothing is impossible. And so with the Lord's name on his lips, the devout Muslim is able to find a good match for his daughter. That lad is also devout and hardworking and helps a music teacher, Rammohan, to run his music classes. Finally, there were simple dances and songs in praise of Swami. The striking aspects of the presentation were twofold - firstly, it was a very simple story with everyone would identify; the problem portrayed, the questions asked and the line of thinking employed were so similar to the slice of life of any common man and secondly, there were quite a few songs embedded in the play which were sung live and were very lively too! The co ordination and synchronization between the ladies and gents on either side of the "play" were very harmonious and the counters sung were also very effective.

As the programme concluded, Swami called a little girl in a Muslim dress to come on the stage. He materialized a gold chain for her and put it lovingly around her neck. He also agreed to move down and pose for group photos. As He posed for pictures, He spoke to the children asking them where they had come from and what their names were. Some answered and many did not even open their mouths. But well, can they be blamed? Swami's presence is so overawing that one is muted into a mind-free moment! As Swami was moving back on the stage in the chair, one of the wheel seemed to trip and slip out of the ramp. There was a collective gasp but Swami seemed to just shrug it off. He just said, "Ay" to the person moving the chair more because of the 'gasp' he had caused among the devotees rather than because of the actual act. Swami never bothers about Himself at all. And His thoughts and feelings are always about the devotees. Even a slightest discomfort to them, makes Him very uncomfortable. If we really want Swami to be comfortable alway, let us vow to remain comfortable and fine always! His joy lies in our joy and comfort.

Swami then permitted them to sing bhajans. Very creatively and nicely, they sang what we call as the "chain bhajans"- one bhajan threaded into the other! After the singing went on for about 15 minutes, Swami blessed the prasadam to be distributed and then left after receiving Aarthi. Submitted  Photos & Sai news  to - SBOI GROUP top

Bhagawan came to Sai Kulwant Hall in His chair by 4.15 pm today, and moved to the interview room with the UK group ready in the centre of Sai Kulwant Hall with another musical offering. Just before half-past four, Swami sent word that the programme could commence. Just as the first item got underway,

They came not seeking God, but to see God in human and with a motive to experience Love in Action. 173 devotees from the United Kingdom, including 133 Youth embarked upon a special pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam with a firm commitment to participate in a 9-day Youth Sadhana Camp at His Divine Lotus Feet, at specific instructions and blessings from Bhagawan.

The journey originally began on the 17th May 2008, with a formal youth meeting in the UK to discuss and explain the purpose of the Sadhana Camp, finally culminated with a most beautiful stint at His Divine Lotus Feet in Prasanthi Nilayam. Just before embarking on to the pilgrimage, the entire troupe participated in a Summer Course held in Leicester in the UK from 25th to 27th of July 2008 which served as a preparatory camp before the Parthi sessions. This unique and spiritually uplifting camp comprised of workshops based on Bhagawan’s teachings, bhajan sessions, yoga classes and spiritually motivating talks by guest speakers.

July 2008

Thursday, July 31, 2008 Thursdays, of late have become days of great joy at Parthi , especially among the gents. With Swami frequently choosing to take a shortcut to the interview room just after the ladies side, the gents devotees are starved of close darshan. And so, Thursdays become so important. Not only because of the fact that Swami, since childhood, has assigned special importance to it, but also because the primary school children come for darshan! So?....So, the gap between the ladies and gents is filled up by the children and this seems to "force" Swami to make the complete darshan rounds! And when Swami came out at 4:15pm, He did exactly that as He took a complete round of the ladies and gents side on the chair and everyone were happy.   top

This evening, Bhagawan went on a second round of the verandah and the front part of Sai Kulwant Hall after He reached the interview room, and asked for chocolate-cream biscuits to be distributed as prasadam to all. As He moved back to the verandah, the UK group co-ordinator Sri. Ajit Popat got Bhagawan's permission to present their programme today. The students moved out of the centre of Sai Kulwant Hall, and the 170-strong UK youth group took their positions. Their musical programme began at 5.15, and after 20 minutes of songs, they started Bhajans. Bhagawan accepted Arati at 6.10 pm before returning to His residence.
- Prasanthi Bulletin -

Very often, it is said, "God is everywhere. All we need is a pure heart and a clean mind to feel Him." Whatever be the statement or the Truth, ask anyone who has just had the privilege of seeing Swami from up close. The thrill that shoots through ones being at being so close to His Being is something out of the world! His darshan seems to fill the entire body-mind-soul apparatus with sublime joy and pure bliss. That effect seems more divine and profound especially when one has been starved of it for many days! It is not simply that the sages and saints, who were ever immersed in the divine, also got dumbed into ecstatic silence at the mere sight of that same Divine. When the Lord descends as an Avatar, His darshan is something that one must experience. And for those who swear by the "God is felt everywhere" philosophy, please, sit for a moment at a yard's distance from Him and feel the difference yourselves! Today, Swami was all "randomness" if we can give another name for His famed "uncertainty" ! He moved towards the interview room, but then moved along the upper portico and interacted with the devotees there.. He also materialised a gold chain for a devotee seated there.  top

Moving down, He went towards the primary school block. He blessed chocolates to be distributed to all the children and this raised the excitement levels- slightly in the whole mandir and to extreme levels in the children's portion of it.. As the chocolates were distributed, another treat too was readied and choco-cream biscuits soon followed suit, only that this time the beneficiaries were everyone and not the children alone. Swami slowly travelled down the slope along the primary school students. He collected letters and blessed the kids as the Veda chanting among them reached "sonic boom" levels. He retraced the same path and granted the children a bonus 'double'. Through the veranda, He moved out to the gents side and this time gave the privileged 'double' to the Higher Secondary School and Institute students. As He neared the area where the birthday boys were seated, He told them in a joking- admonishing tone,"Ay I already blessed you all!" He moved to the interview room and then blessed the group from the United Kingdom to put up the musical programme they had prepared. Quickly, the marble block was cleared and the group to perform were seated. Hurriedly, a lamp for Swami to light was prepared. However, Swami came and straight sat facing the devotees and asked for the programme to begin.

A person went up to Swami and offered a rose to mark the beginning of the programme. Beginning with "Brahmaanandam Parama Sukhadam", the group sang five songs in different styles and different moods. The final song was a powerful one that had the catch phrase, "onward, forward, godward". As they completed their five songs, Swami told them to sing bhajans. The youth from the United Kingdom had come on this visit to Parthi as part of their sadhana camp! They began bhajans and five bhajans later, Swami had Aarthi and then retired to Yajur Mandir.   top

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 For the last few days, Bhagawan has been coming for darshan in His chair on most occasions, and going for a second round of the verandah, sitting onstage for a few minutes and then moving to the interview room. On Monday, July 28th in Sai Kulwant Hall the group from the USA got a chance to present a musical programme with enactments by children in Sai Kulwant Hall. At 5.25 pm their programme got underway when Swami came onstage. Various religions were represented in the group songs for half an hour. Swami interacted with them, and after a few minutes, they began bhajans. Bhagawan accepted Arati and returned to His residence at 6.40 pm.  Photo slides and report from SSSBPT below

Devotees from the US (Region 10 – Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas) presented a musical offering to Bhagawan on Monday, July 28th in Sai Kulwant Hall.

The program depicted Bhagawan’s love for mankind throughout the ages. It showed scenes of His various incarnations and messengers to uplift man to enable him to realise his divinity. The entire group of 276 performed a medley of songs in 7 languages, woven together with
narration. 57 Bal Vikas (SSE) children provided a dramatic portrayal through skits and dances.

The six episodes focused on the majesty of Rama, the mischief of Krishna, the serenity of the Buddha, the compassion of Jesus, the glory of Allah, and the grandeur of Bhagawan Baba. The first scene was set to a backdrop of uplifting songs, which described the glory and might of the Lord, and illustrated the power of the vanaras’ devotion to Lord Rama as they built the bridge to Lanka. Our prayer is to be, likewise, humble instruments in Lord Sai Rama’s mission.

The second episode focused on the mischief of Krishna, who charmed Mother Yashoda and the Gopis as He stole yogurt and butter. His leelas, dramatized to a bhajan, inspire us to awaken the God within who will steal our butter-soft hearts. This scene was followed by a song that reminds us to remember Hari (Lord Krishna) in all that we think, say, and do.

Set to a traditional chant followed by a bhajan, the next scene depicted the Lord Buddha’s peaceful aura. His presence was enough to calm the restless minds of spiritual aspirants depicted by SSE students. By controlling the senses and purifying their intake, the heart shall become Prasanthi Nilayam and Sai will reside within.

The fourth episode showed Jesus showering His unconditional love and compassion on the blind, the hungry, the sick, and the needy. Seeing Jesus' loving service, others, who previously were unwilling to serve, follow suit and therefore are transformed themselves.

The fifth episode showed a traditional Sufi dance set to an uplifting Qawwali praising Allah. The songs of Allah demonstrated that Bhagawan (in all His forms) is the ultimate embodiment of All that Is as He is the One behind everyone and everything.

For the grand finale, the boys and girls created two hearts at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan Baba while the entire group sang “Hum Ko Tumse Pyar Kitna.” This represented that the whole world - all faiths, religions, castes, and sects - is arriving at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan to participate in His Divine Mission.

Swami responded to this outpouring of love by coming down into the group of children for a photograph. He granted padanamaskar to several of them, materialized a gold chain for one boy, and distributed prasadam to everyone.

Swami’s pleasure was evident as He invited the group to sing several bhajans in His Divine Presence. After accepting Arathi, Swami raised both hands in blessing to all.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008  This evening, devotees from Italy presented a musical programme. Bhagawan came in His golden chair, reaching onstage at 5.25 pm to start the proceedings. After 45 minutes of traditional Italian music, Bhagawan asked them to sing Bhajans. At 6.30 pm, He accepted Arati and moved to the interview room. When He emerged a few minutes later, some students from the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School were waiting with a card and a tray of sweets, on the occasion of their Hostel anniversary. Swami asked the student with the tray of chocolates in the shape of gold coins to follow Him, and moving to the ladies' side, distributed the sweets to many devotees and even moved among the ladies on wheelchairs giving them the sweets personally. Then He returned to the centre of Sai Kulwant hall, had a set of photographs with the youngest member of their group who had recited Vedam and played a guitar solo, and asked the students to sing Bhajans. At a quarter past seven, Swami moved towards His residence, and the session concluded with Arati once again.  Photos below: July 23, 2008 - Read more details from 23rd click here   top

erence proceedings and outlined the course of future action, Bhagawan delivered His benedictory message. Swami stressed the importance of Unity and the feeling that all are the children of one Father. At the end of His Discourse, He went to the interview room briefly, and returned with Dr. Goldstein in tow. Bhagawan took the lingam He had given to Dr. Goldstein last evening and displayed it to everyone, then created vibhuti and sprinkled it on the lingam. He announced that He's giving the lingam to Dr. Goldstein for him to distribute the water from washing the lingam to those who are unwell. He then asked for the evening's cultural programme to begin.

Children from the Sri Sai Vidya Vihar, Alwaye, Kerala, presented an hour-long dance drama on Bhaktha Jayadeva. Bhagawan's face was wreathed in smiles, watching the small children make their presentation. As they concluded, He got up from the stage and walked down to take group photographs with them. He then sat onstage and distributed laminated photographs to each of them as they came up one by one, while prasadam was distributed to all the devotees. He also threw a couple of sweets to some of the drama participants. It was 8 o'clock when Swami accepted Arati and returned to His residence.  top

The Divine Name is sacred, it is powerful, it is our salvation”. Saturday, July 19, 2008  This evening, devotees from Austria presented a choral programme. Swami came for darshan at 5 pm, and He took a round of the Sai Kulwant Hall in His chair before coming to the verandah. Before the programme commenced, He once again took a round of the ladies' side in His chair before moving up the centre of Sai Kulwant Hall and coming onstage to start the proceedings at 5.25 pm. Bhagawan asked them to sing some more after their half-hour of songs, so an encore followed. Swami asked the devotee who introduced the songs whether he wanted water, and referring to their tears of joy, he said, "Yes, Swami, so much water has come out, now some water must go in also!" The students supplied them with water followed by Prasadam distribution while Bhajans were sung for half an hour with Arati at seven o'clock.
Austrian Hallelujah: - Sai Choir Austria sings in praise of the Divine! God’s love and magnanimity has something that is mysterious and thus difficult to fathom. One can only keep thinking of Greater Heaven for all magnanimity that is bestowed upon the entire creation with grateful thanks. "Hallelujah" is considered as a joyful word of praise to GOD which comes for several references in the bible, especially in the book of Psalms. Sai Choir from Austria had the rare privilege to sing this song of praise to Lord along with a bouquet of nine other songs in the immediate Divine presence of Bhagawan on the twilight of 19th July 2008 on the sidelines of the Sri Sathya Sai World Education Conference.

University be propagated in all countries. The students sang a couple of songs after Swami's Discourse as prasadam was distributed. Monday, July 14, 2008: Just as the month of December instantly triggers the thoughts of Christmas, the month of July is intimately linked in the Ashram with the celebration of the Ashadi Ekadashi and the Guru Poornima Festivals. It is a mega event that triggers the first big celebration of the new academic year. It is the devotees from the States of Maharashtra and Goa that kick-start this event with the two-day long celebration of the Ashadi Ekadashi festival by hundreds of Bala Vikas children from these States. On this Ashadi Ekadasi morning, Bhagawan arrived in Sai Kulwant Hall at 8.50 am to a welcome song by the devotees from Maharashtra. As He reached the stage, their traditional Dindi programme began. After the ten minute Dindi, the drama for the morning, Atma Ramayana, got underway. The musical, presented by Pune Balvikas and youth, brought out the inner significance of the Rama story with a dialogue at a Balvikas class, based on the Eka-sloki Ramayana. Bhagawan went down from the stage to go amidst the performers after the hour-long programme, and then sat onstage while the devotees sang Bhajans for half an hour till eleven o'clock when He accepted Arati and returned to His residence.  top

In the afternoon, Bhagawan arrived at 4.45, and the evening drama got underway soon after He came onstage at five o'clock. The hour-long programme by the Balvikas and youth of Maharashtra and Goa was based on the Tripura Rahasya, a text which stresses the ultimate truth beyond the Trinity, bringing out the way to be rid of ignorance through a series of parables. Bhagawan called up the protagonist of the play as the concluding song began, and Blessed him with a chain. He once again went among the participants in His chair and interacted with them. As Bhajans went on, Swami sat onstage and called up members of the cast one by one for photographs with Him. After twenty minutes of Bhajans, Swami accepted Arati at 6.30 pm and returned to His residence. Read more details from 14th July 2008 click here

Sunday, July 13, 2008: As part of the Ashadi Ekadasi function, the introductory honours had been gifted to Sri.Kunal Ganjawalla and his wife Gayatri Ganjawalla. Swami had agreed to a concert by the musical couple and the whole stage had been set and kept ready for them. Swami came out at about 3:45pm and in the car took a round in the Kulwant hall. Swami is called "Nitya Nootana" meaning the ever new. No two days are ever similar in the things He does. Today, He took the route via the portico from the gents side and then moved to the ladies sidJoin group saibabaofindia - "SBOI" Be a part of a growing Sai online communitye again. From there He went back towards Yajur Mandir and via the passage between the Yajur Mandir and the Kulwant Hall, He drove out! He went for a darshan granting ride in Puttaparthi and then returned to the mandir.

This time, He came straight to the portico and then soon onto the stage. He called the artistes of the day and asked them to begin. The veda chanting came to a halt and the artistes sought His blessings. The first song by Sri.Kunal was on Lord Ganesha and it was an auspicious beginning. He and his wife kept alternating between themselves in the songs and it was a treat for the ears and more so for the eyes - the music was so good and Swami's reactions and responses to the songs were so sweet and full of Love. When Gayathri began the song "Thumak Chalat Ramachandra" after saying that it reminds her of the beautiful days when Swami would come glidingly walking down for darshan, Swami seemed to get overwhelmed. He began singing along with her. In fact at one point, when the singer stopped singing to allow the flute to play a piece, Swami continued singing and was a
pparently surprised as to why the singing had stopped! He looked at the singer and gave vigorous rhythm on His lap indicating her to begin singing. Kunal then sang the song, "Sainath Tere Hazaro Haath" from the movie Shirdi Ke Sai Baba. Being a very popular song, the members of the audience too began to sing along with him. At the end of that song, Swami looked at the artistes and lipped, "Very very happy!"- and that was exactly the feeling shown on the faces of the artistes too for what can be greater reward than being able to make the Lord happy. A Meera bhajan followed next and the audience lapped it up as it went through the highs and lows of pitches and loudness! As the songs continued, Swami called Kunal and made some enquiries of him. Then taking leave for a few minutes, Swami went into the interview room. He returned soon and sat on the stage. One other lady too sang the song,"Oh Rama! Nee nama yenta ruchira" and Swami sat swaying to it and enjoying it. Really, the only tunes the Lord dances to are the tunes of Love from the heart.  top

Every action of Swami has so much of meaning to some people. It may appear that it means nothing for the world, but it definitely means the world to somebody! Knowing the story in the background sometimes helps one in appreciating the actions He does. And in today's case, having met the artistes and got a chance to interact with them, the writer is able to enjoy and share some of these stories. Some time back, Swami had appeared in the dream of Kunal's sister telling her that Gayatri must sing the bhajan -"Sri Venkatesha Saishwara" - and very soon she began that bhajan. It appeared as if Swami had been waiting for that bhajan. As soon as it concluded, Swami called Kunal and began waving His palm. At this juncture, it is necessary to reveal another part of the story in flashback. As Gayatri put it, "It was our dream that we get married in His presence. It did not happen that way, but He knows every desire in the heart!" Swami created a golden chain and instead of putting around Kunal's neck, gave it to him and told him to tie it around his wife's neck! Then immediately, He materialised a ring and gave it to the wife to put it on the finger of the husband! Both man and wife broke down. Showers of Grace and showers of tears are often synonymous. And thats what happened on stage as Swami fulfilled a deep desire in the devotees' hearts without them even telling Him physically. Seeing them in tears, Swami also momentarily was overcome with emotion. He presented sarees to the ladies and shawls to the gents.  As this shower of Love came to a pause, Swami asked Kunal to sing a bhajan. He started, "Bolo bolo Sab mil bolo"- a bhajan which urges everyone to sing out the name of the Lord. Having witnessed all that happened on the stage, nobody needed any urging, only an excuse was needed, to sing out the divine name! The bhajan had a whole hearted and vociferous following. At the end of that, Swami told the artistes that He would come to centrestage and pose with them for photographs. They were all thrilled and overjoyed. When Swami wants to make you feel special, He goes all out to do so. As the pictures were being taken, Swami looked at the lad shooting the video and told him, "Move your fingers! Don't block the video!" everyone smiled in merriment. Then, Swami spoke to almost every member of the performing troupe. He blessed the prasadam to be distributed to all. Then as Aarthi began, He called Prof. Anil Kumar and told him to announce the next day's programme He also blessed a couple of books that the state president of Maharashtra presented to Him. After Aarthi, giving the abhayahastha blessings to all, Swami retired to Yajur Mandir.   top
